What People's Say About Place

Amazing tasty authentic food with great service and value.

Izakaya Mi Young (美荣) in Ktown is a hidden gem tucked away in a basement — perfect for a late-night drink. It’s relatively under-the-radar; you’ll need to walk down a stairwell to find it, giving it that “hidden in plain sight” charm. But the food and drinks? Truly impressive. The decor has an atmospheric Tokyo vibe — exactly how I imagine an izakaya next to a subway exit in Japan. Each table has a ukiyo-e curtain for privacy, but sitting at the bar also has its own cozy appeal. The menu covers everything from yakitori and sushi to traditional Japanese street snacks and sashimi. I especially loved their highballs — the yuzu and Earl Grey flavors stood out. We ordered several pieces of the chef’s special sushi, all incredibly fresh. The uni-scallop sushi was heavenly. The yakitori, cheesy eel, okonomiyaki, and agedashi tofu were all perfect drinking snacks, but our top favorite of the night was the butter-grilled abalone — so good we wanted an encore! After just one visit, I already can’t wait to go back. It’s officially my new Ktown treasure. Bonus: they have parking validation, the prices are reasonable, and it’s just the perfect place for a slightly tipsy, blissful night.

Been here two times. Will come again. Squid leg- wow… best squid leg ever in LA!!!! Squeezing the lemon makes it even better. Please order this Yuzu kampachi- also one of my favs at Mi Young. Please order it. It’s so refreshing! The fish has a nice texture with the small lemon zest on it as well.

Amazing food, excellent service, and a great experience overall. We were seated quickly on a Friday night for a party of four. My partner and I had been here before, so this was our 2nd time here and the service was just as fast as our 1st time there! Our orders were taken quickly, and drinks and food came out very fast, which was nice. The food looked amazing and tasted even better! You will definitely need to order at least one of everything on the menu because there are no bad dishes here. We will be back very soon hopefully because this is definitely the best Izakaya experience we’ve had in LA!

Atmosphere goes crazy, the restaurant is located downstairs and the vibe is great for dates. Came here for a date, food was great with selection of sushi and their uni is excellent. Loved their food selection and soup. Must order are their selected sushi menu! Parking can be validated in the plaza for only 3 dollars!

The lady that served me was so so sweet and attentive the whole time. I was sad I couldn't try the sushi at lunch, but that just means I'll have to come at dinner time. I ordered the katsu tenderloin special lunch bento box and everything tasted good and fresh! What i liked most was that the meat was thick cuts.

Food preparation and presentation was outstanding. The butter abalone was off the charts delicious. Fried squid was tender and crispy. Yakitori combo was mouthwatering… Sushi was fresh and not overly seasoned or sauced.

Izakaya Miyoung is an absolute hidden gem! We ordered the yakitori skewers, fish cake soup, and chicken wings, and let me tell you, every single bite was delicious. The portions were perfect for sharing, making it a great spot to come with friends. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and spot-on with his sake recommendation, which paired beautifully with our food. The vibe here is warm and inviting, and I loved the interior design, it really adds to the whole experience. This place is definitely going on my list of go-to spots. Can’t wait to come back, have some drinks, and try even more dishes from the menu!
